The Bank of the Philippine Islands Foundation (BPIF) and the Philippine Science High School Foundation Inc. (PSHSFI) have signed an agreement to launch the FinEd Unboxed program across the PSHS community. Formalized at the PSHS Main Campus, this makes PSHS BPIF’s third partner school for 2026.
FinEd Unboxed turns schools into hubs for financial learning. It provides teachers and student leaders with structured, age-appropriate modules covering saving, budgeting, investing, insurance, and fraud prevention. The program also includes the Breakthrough App, an interactive tool to practice money management in real-life situations. Over the next three years, around 3,000 students, educators, and leaders are expected to benefit.
In 2025 alone, BPIF’s financial education efforts reached 3.3 million Filipinos nationwide. Officials from both groups stressed that financial literacy is a vital life skill—especially for PSHS students, who start handling their own funds as early as age 12. The partnership aims to empower young Filipinos to make smart decisions, grow their resources, and become catalysts for financial wellness in their families and communities.
