Lanson Place Mall of Asia has secured a major regional accolade, winning the Gold Award for Outstanding Architecture – Hotels/Resorts (Project Outside of Hong Kong) at the Build4Asia 2026 Awards.
The recognition puts the newest flagship property of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC) among Asia’s standout hospitality developments, citing its blend of striking design, sustainability features, and guest-centered functionality.
Designed by Arquitectonica, the hotel draws inspiration from the waves of Manila Bay. Its distinctive façade features bronze metallic curtain wall panels and flowing wave-like fins, creating a prominent architectural landmark within the SM Mall of Asia complex.
SMHCC Executive Vice President Peggy Angeles said the award validates the company’s approach of combining innovative architecture with meaningful guest experiences.
“Design has the power to shape how people connect with places and create lasting memories. This award reflects our commitment to building hospitality destinations that are purposeful, future-ready, and centered on the evolving needs of our guests,” Angeles said.
Located in Pasay, the hotel caters to both business and leisure travelers, offering accommodations for short-term stays as well as long-stay residents.
Beyond its design credentials, the property was recognized for incorporating sustainability into its development. Its features include energy-efficient insulated glass unit glazing, integrated shading devices, and infrastructure designed to support future district cooling systems.
The hotel has also earned the globally recognized Green Key Certification, awarded to tourism establishments that meet stringent environmental and sustainability standards.
