Mitsubishi Power has entered into a long-term parts and services agreement (LTPSA) with LNGPH and its subsidiary South Premiere Power Corp. (SPPC) for the 1,200 MW Ilijan combined cycle natural gas-fired power plant.
Through its local affiliate MHI Power (Philippines) Plant Services Corp. (MHI-PSC), Mitsubishi Power will supply critical components, perform repairs, and provide technical advisory support for the plant’s M501G gas turbines. The agreement aims to maintain reliable operation and optimal performance of the facility.
This partnership builds on a relationship that began in 2002 when Mitsubishi Power supplied the original turbines for the plant. LNGPH operates an integrated LNG import, regasification and power complex with a total capacity of 2,500 MW. It is owned by a joint venture involving Meralco PowerGen, Therma Natgas Power, and San Miguel Global Power Holdings.
Officials noted the agreement supports the plant’s power supply contract valid until 2040. Mitsubishi Power, which maintains a local engineering and service team of over 1,600 professionals in the Philippines, stated that this collaboration reinforces its commitment to delivering stable energy solutions for the country.
