International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) continues to strengthen its environmental credentials after its Brazilian unit, Tecon Suape, received a second consecutive Green Company Seal from the Government of Pernambuco.
The recognition places Tecon Suape among just 16 organizations honored this year for integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into their operations, highlighting the growing importance of sustainability in the global ports industry.
The Green Company Seal recognizes organizations that promote responsible business practices while supporting economic growth, environmental protection and social inclusion.
The program is administered under Pernambuco’s State Law No. 16.112/2017 by a multi-agency commission led by the state’s environmental and economic development authorities.
For Tecon Suape, the back-to-back certification reflects years of investment in sustainable port operations while creating long-term value for customers, employees, shareholders and surrounding communities.
The award also reinforces the terminal’s role in helping build greener supply chains and raising sustainability standards across Brazil’s logistics and maritime sectors.
The certification, which remains valid for two years, adds to Tecon Suape’s growing list of environmental achievements, including its Ocean Friend 2025 certification for environmentally responsible port operations.
The latest recognition underscores ICTSI’s broader strategy of embedding ESG principles across its international portfolio as global shipping lines, investors and cargo owners increasingly prioritize sustainability alongside operational efficiency.
By investing in cleaner, more resilient port operations, ICTSI is positioning its terminals to support the evolving demands of global trade while contributing to long-term economic development and environmental stewardship in the markets where it operates.
