Manila Water has released its July desludging schedule, encouraging qualified customers to take part in this regular maintenance to keep septic systems safe and reliable. Desludging clears accumulated sludge from septic tanks to prevent blockages, foul odors, and overflows, while also helping households avoid costly repairs and supporting proper wastewater treatment and environmental protection.
This month, service teams will operate in Bagong Nayon, Sta. Cruz, San Luis, and Mayamot in Antipolo City, as well as the towns of Baras and Jalajala, Bagumbayan in Angono, Santa Ana in Taytay, and San Juan in Cainta, all in Rizal province. Coverage also includes Ampid 1, Dulong Bayan, and Guitnang Bayan II in San Mateo, Burgos and Balite in Rodriguez, Parang and Santo Niño in Marikina City, and Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City. Selected accounts in East Kamias, West Kamias, Silangan, and Paligsahan in Quezon City will also receive the service.
The company emphasized that timely maintenance is especially important amid ongoing El Niño conditions. Extended dry weather hardens the soil around septic drain fields, reducing their ability to absorb wastewater, while sudden heavy rains may overwhelm full tanks and drainage systems—raising the risk of malfunctions, backups, and sanitation problems.
“As we continue to feel the effects of strong El Niño, we encourage customers to use this service as a proactive way to protect community health and our waterways,” said Manila Water communication affaira group head Dittie Galang. “Alongside maintaining round-the-clock water supply amid climate challenges, we remain committed to delivering reliable, quality sanitation services to all our customers.”
