McDonald’s Philippines has partnered once more with the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela ahead of the new school year, sending over 10,000 staff volunteers to support more than 700 public schools nationwide.
Volunteers cleaned, repaired, and repainted classrooms, and provided meals for teachers, parents, and local helpers. In Quezon City, staff from the company’s support center worked at Diosdado Macapagal Elementary School, where they also handed out school kits and raincoats for students.
The effort reflects the brand’s core value of malasakit (compassion and care). “This shows our commitment to improving lives, especially for our youth,” said McDonald’s human capital vice president Ben Marasigan.
School officials noted the support eases resource shortages and strengthens shared efforts to give children better learning opportunities.
