Security Bank Corporation has served as the sole lender for the 17.4 MW Solana Solar Beta solar power facility in Hermosa, Bataan. Developed by SSBI under CN Green Roof Asia, the project will generate around 35.5 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity yearly, supplying 10 MW under a 20-year deal with Peninsula Electric Cooperative (PENELCO).
This marks the bank’s first collaboration with Climate Fund Managers and Norway’s Norfund, the two backers of Green Roof Asia. The refinancing agreement was signed May 26, 2026, with full loan release completed June 25. Security Bank Capital Investment Corporation acted as arranger, while the bank’s Trust and Asset Management Group served as facility agent and security trustee.
Executives from all parties noted the deal highlights growing investor confidence in Philippine renewables, supports local electric cooperatives, strengthens energy security, and diversifies the country’s power mix. For Security Bank, the project adds to a portfolio of 24 renewable energy developments totaling 4.30 GW nationwide, bringing its total sustainable finance disbursements to P116.95 billion as of May 2026.
