East West Banking Corporation (EastWest) highlighted the key role of employers in improving Filipinos’ retirement readiness at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas-subsidized PERA@Work forum. EastWest CEO Jerry G. Ngo spoke at the event, noting his bank is the first universal bank in the country to launch a voluntary Personal Equity and Retirement Account program for its own staff. Launched in April 2026, the scheme runs in partnership with DragonFi Securities, while EastWest PERA products are also open to all customers via DragonFi and Luna Securities. Ngo explained PERA serves not just as a retirement tool but also as an accessible way to build financial knowledge and investing confidence. He urged other organizations to include PERA in their employee wellness plans, as the forum gathered over 300 leaders from government and business sectors to expand nationwide PERA use.
