STADA Philippines has officially introduced its Hyastad portfolio, a full range of preservative-free ophthalmic solutions made to manage dry eye disease and other conditions affecting the eye surface. The launch was held at Makati Shangri-La to mark the 165th birth anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippine national hero who was also a German-trained pioneer in ophthalmology. The event gathered top ophthalmologists and senior executives from major drugstore chains across the country.
The new offering builds on STADA’s long-standing cooperation with the local ophthalmology sector, and marks the next step in expanding its presence in Philippine eye care. The company said the line demonstrates its commitment to delivering evidence-based care, while giving health workers and patients more options for preservative-free treatments. The launch was led by STADA Philippines general manager Paolo Valenzuela and Raafat Maher, vice president and head of commercial for STADA Emerging Markets.
The Hyastad line includes three distinct products covering different aspects of eye health management. Hyastad 0.2 percent uses a higher concentration of sodium hyaluronate to provide longer-lasting relief for people with chronic dry eye. Hyastad Plus combines 0.4 percent sodium hyaluronate with virgin castor oil to restore the tear film, offering both quick lubrication and longer-term stability. Hyastad Wipes, made with the patented Hy-Ter formulation, are designed for daily eyelid hygiene especially for those with blepharitis, and are currently the only ophthalmic wipes registered as a medical device with the Philippine Food and Drug Administration. The full set allows eye care specialists to match treatments to each patient’s needs, from basic daily care to advanced restoration.
Valenzuela noted that the new line follows what the company calls the “Hy-Standard,” which means refusing to compromise on quality and ensuring every product meets strict clinical effectiveness requirements. Maher added that modern eye care needs a holistic approach covering prevention and maintenance as well as treatment, and that STADA will continue supporting Filipino ophthalmologists through ongoing training, global research updates and industry best practices. STADA executive vice president for emerging markets Stephane Jacqmin also shared in a video message that the initiative reflects the company’s global goal of creating practical healthcare solutions through trusted local partnerships.
STADA Philippines is part of STADA, a leading German pharmaceutical firm with deep roots in community pharmacies. Operating in over 100 countries, the group focuses on three main areas: consumer health products, generics and specialty pharmaceuticals.
