ACMobility, Shell power nationwide EV charging expansion

ACMobility and Shell Pilipinas Corp. are accelerating the rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure with eight new fast-charging hubs at Shell Mobility stations, expanding the country’s charging network and making long-distance electric travel more practical for Filipino motorists.

The new facilities are part of a partnership forged in September 2025 that calls for ACMobility to install DC fast chargers at strategically located Shell stations along major highways and transport corridors. The initiative advances ACMobility’s vision of building the “Philippine EV Spine,” a nationwide charging network connecting Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Among the latest sites are northbound and southbound charging hubs along the North Luzon Expressway in Mexico, Pampanga, providing convenient charging stops for travelers heading to Baguio City, La Union and other northern destinations, as well as motorists returning to Metro Manila.

“As we ramp up our efforts to build the Philippine EV Spine, we are grateful to have Shell as our partner in advancing the country towards sustainable mobility,” said Carla Buencamino, ACMobility head of mobility infrastructure.

Shell said the collaboration combines its extensive retail footprint with ACMobility’s expertise in EV charging technology to accelerate the country’s transition toward cleaner transportation.

“Through this partnership, we’re bringing together Shell’s wide presence in strategic locations and ACMobility’s expertise in building EV charging infrastructure,” said Jolo Valdez, Shell Mobility non-fuel retail and e-mobility manager.

The eight operational charging hubs are now located across Pampanga, Pangasinan, Zambales and Davao City. Additional locations in Pampanga, Cavite and Camarines Sur are scheduled to open soon, while construction is also planned in Batangas, Bataan and Cebu.

The partners aim to establish charging hubs at 50 Shell stations with more than 100 charge points nationwide.

As of July 2026, ACMobility operates more than 200 charging locations across the Philippines. All stations are integrated into the Evro app, allowing EV owners to locate chargers, check real-time availability and make digital payments, further lowering barriers to EV adoption and supporting the country’s shift toward sustainable mobility.
