NLEX Corporation on Friday said it stays dedicated to building infrastructure that improves travel and supports economic expansion across the regions, pointing to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) as a key driver of business growth in Central Luzon. Luis S. Reñon, president of NLEX, noted that the company’s longstanding goal has been to deliver safe and dependable transport facilities that unlock the full economic potential of Northern and Central Luzon. He explained that for years, the firm has aimed to highlight the area’s promise and opportunities through better road access, adding that this commitment translates into wider business activity and overall development for Central Luzon.
As Central Luzon grows into one of the country’s most important economic centers, the 94-kilometer SCTEX remains a critical link that supports tourism, trade, and new investments. Carrying over 80,000 vehicles every day, the expressway connects Subic, Clark, and Tarlac, helping businesses expand their operations, reach more customers, and move goods and people more efficiently across the two regions. Members of the Pampanga Business Circle recently visited NLEX’s main office and shared how the facility has made a real difference to their work and the wider local economy.
Vickee Navallo Dela Cruz-Ong, who runs a homegrown restaurant brand in Pampanga, said good roads have made it possible for her business to open locations outside the province. She noted that growth would have been far more difficult without proper infrastructure, and that SCTEX has allowed them to expand to areas such as Subic, Tarlac, and Baguio with greater confidence in delivering supplies on time and ensuring the safe travel of their staff. Chef Felix Asuncion also emphasized how vital reliable roads are to keeping Central Luzon’s thriving food and tourism sectors strong. He said good connectivity brings people together and supports local traditions, and that as Pampanga is known as the country’s culinary capital, easier access draws more visitors and creates widespread benefits for the community. NLEX operates as part of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, the toll road business arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation.
