Etiqa celebrates seven years with stronger customer-first strategy

Etiqa Philippines is marking its seventh year under the Etiqa brand by doubling down on customer experience, operational efficiency, and broader insurance access, underscoring how insurers are increasingly competing on service quality as much as product offerings.

Backed by Malaysia’s Maybank Group, the insurer said the anniversary reflects seven years of transformation since joining Etiqa International Holdings in 2019, with investments focused on making insurance more accessible, responsive, and relevant for Filipino consumers and businesses.

“Seven years as Etiqa represents more than a brand milestone. It reflects our continuous journey of transforming insurance to better serve the evolving needs of Filipinos,” said president and chief executive officer Anthony Lou Bernabe.

He said the company remains committed to simplifying insurance protection, deepening customer relationships, and delivering long-term value to policyholders, business partners, and communities.

The insurer has expanded its market presence through its exclusive bancassurance partnership with Maybank Philippines while growing its corporate portfolio through its collaboration with global insurance network Insurope.

Etiqa also occupies a distinctive position in the local market as one of the few insurers with a composite license, enabling it to offer life, non-life, and Takaful products under one organization. The company remains among the pioneers of Takaful, providing ethical and inclusive insurance solutions to a wider customer base.

Over the past year, Etiqa invested in improving claims processing, strengthening partnerships with healthcare providers, shortening turnaround times, and enhancing customer service systems.

Those efforts translated into more than P3.8 billion in insurance claims paid in 2025, reinforcing the industry’s central value proposition that reliability during emergencies ultimately defines an insurer’s reputation more than policy sales.

The company has also earned consistent recognition from the Insurance Asia Awards since 2021 for customer experience, customer service, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

As it looks beyond its seventh anniversary, Etiqa said it will continue investing in digital innovation, operational excellence, and strategic partnerships, reflecting a broader shift in the insurance industry where speed, accessibility, and customer trust have become key drivers of long-term growth.
