Filipino exporters showcase resilience at national trade fair

More than 200 Filipino exporters gathered under one roof this week, turning the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Bagong Pilipinas National Exporters’ Fair 2026 into a showcase of how local businesses are finding new opportunities despite an increasingly uncertain global trading environment.

Held from July 22 to 26 at SM Megamall’s Megatrade Halls in Mandaluyong City, the five-day event brought together exporters and export-ready enterprises seeking new buyers, business partnerships and overseas market opportunities.

Organized by the DTI under Trade Secretary Cristina Roque, the fair reflected the government’s broader strategy of helping Philippine exporters diversify markets, improve competitiveness and reduce risks from global trade disruptions.

“Our exporters continue to demonstrate their ability to adapt and compete despite global trade disruptions,” Roque said. “Through the National Exporters’ Fair, we want to give greater visibility to the quality products and services that are proudly made in the Philippines and sold in different parts of the world.”

The exhibition featured a wide range of export products spanning food and beverage, fashion and textiles, home and lifestyle, wellness, technology and creative industries. Special sections also highlighted halal-certified products, coconut-based goods and emerging Philippine exports including ube, pili and calamansi, underscoring the country’s efforts to broaden its export portfolio.

Beyond product displays, the fair served as a venue for practical business development. Companies participated in business matching sessions, networking activities and consultations designed to help them navigate overseas markets. The Usapang Exports forum also tackled market expansion strategies, international standards compliance, export financing and logistics.

Anchored on the theme “Navigating Uncertainties and Seizing Opportunities,” the event was organized in partnership with the Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. (PHILEXPORT), the DTI Halal Industry Development Program and the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan, reinforcing efforts to strengthen the country’s export ecosystem as businesses pursue growth in international markets.
