Globe Telecom Inc. remains optimistic about the second half of 2026, supported by strong core business results even amid challenging economic conditions, company officials said in a virtual briefing.
“We are very much optimistic about the balance of the year given the very good performance of the core Telco business in the first half of 2026,” said Juan Carlo C. Puno, Globe’s chief financial officer. He noted the core business’s resilience gives the company confidence moving forward, despite macroeconomic headwinds in the first six months.
Globe also confirmed it stays free cash flow positive, and aims to further improve cash generation through careful investments and strict capital management. “We are currently free cash flow positive now, but we continue with that goal of increasing that amount through very measured investments,” Puno added.
For the rest of the year, Globe will focus on three key priorities: boosting monetization, strengthening customer ties, and expanding and improving its network and digital platforms. “Monetization remains very, very important, and this is a key focus area for everyone at Globe in the second half of the year,” said Globe president and chief executive Carl Raymond Cruz.
Cruz added the company will keep investing while staying financially disciplined. “We will stay disciplined in capital allocation, focused in execution, and committed to delivering long-term value for our customers, shareholders, and, of course, the communities that we serve in the country,” he stated.
Earlier, Globe reported a net income of P11 billion for the first half, down 11% from P12.4 billion a year prior. Excluding foreign exchange and fair value adjustments, core net income rose 7% quarter-on-quarter to P5.3 billion in the second quarter from P4.9 billion, signaling better underlying profitability. Core net income reached P10.2 billion in the first half, a dip of just 2% year-on-year. Consolidated gross service revenues hit a record P85.4 billion, up 6% from P80.2 billion in the same period in 2025.
