McDonald’s Philippines is expanding its Crew-ators employee creator program, giving restaurant crew members access to skills training, mentorship, and content creation opportunities beyond their regular roles.
The latest batch includes 12 crew members from Cebu who will undergo six months of training, hands-on content creation, and mentorship. They will also serve as official employee ambassadors for McDonald’s Philippines.
The program is part of the company’s broader employee development efforts, which include training, flexible work arrangements, and support for workers pursuing education and other career interests.
“Our people are more than the roles they perform every day. They’re students, artists, athletes, creators, and individuals with unique aspirations,” said Ben Marasigan, vice president for Human Capital Group at McDonald’s Philippines.
Working students account for about 70 percent of McDonald’s more than 75,000 employees, the company said. Flexible schedules are designed to help crew members balance work and education, with about 4,000 employees graduating from college each year.
The company invested P84 million in employee upskilling in 2024, supporting training and development across different levels of the organization.
For the latest Crew-ators cohort, participants will receive training in content creation and storytelling from David Jones Cua of Bisaya Conyo Girl and TikTok creator Christian Antolin. They will also receive access to creator tools and incentives as they develop content for the program.
Crew-ators was launched as a pilot in 2023 and is returning with an expanded format, beginning with the Cebu cohort and potentially extending to more restaurant employees nationwide.
The program gives crew members an opportunity to develop practical skills that can complement their education, careers, and personal interests.
For McDonald’s, the initiative also creates a pool of employee ambassadors who can share workplace experiences and connect with customers through content created from their own perspective.
The expansion reflects the company’s broader focus on workforce development as it seeks to give employees opportunities to build skills and explore interests beyond their day-to-day restaurant responsibilities.
