Globe offers free roaming services in Indonesia after Flores Island quake

Following the magnitude 7.7 earthquake off Flores Island, Indonesia, Globe is extending free call, text, and data services to its customers in the country to support emergency communication. The quake caused widespread damage, landslides, power outages, and displacement, with rescue efforts still ongoing.

Through its Alagang Globe program, eligible customers in Indonesia will automatically receive—no registration needed—15 minutes of calls, 15 texts to all networks, and 1 GB of data, valid for seven days. The package activates upon connecting to local partners Telkomsel or Indosat, with a confirmation message sent once ready.

“During emergencies, staying connected becomes even more important, especially for Filipinos who are away from home,” said Paula Rivera-Castillo, senior director for international business. “We want to help our customers in Indonesia reach their loved ones and maintain vital lines of communication during this difficult time.”

Users should dial numbers with a “+” followed by country and area or mobile codes. Postpaid customers are advised to enable data roaming only after receiving the activation notice.
