Alaska Milk Corp. is turning to a veteran Filipino executive to lead its next phase of growth as the dairy company seeks to strengthen its brands, expand opportunities, and deepen its role in affordable nutrition.
The company appointed Marjorie “Marj” Garrovillo as managing director, bringing back an executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning seven countries and the food, beverage, telecommunications, and consumer goods industries.
Garrovillo returns to FrieslandCampina, Alaska Milk’s parent group, where she previously served as marketing director in Vietnam. Her appointment gives Alaska Milk a leader with experience across marketing, sales, operations, innovation, and sustainability.
Before taking the top post at Alaska Milk, Garrovillo held senior leadership positions at Smart Communications, Nestlé, Danone, Coca-Cola, AkzoNobel, and Unilever.
Her career has centered on business transformation, brand building, and developing new growth platforms, while bringing diverse teams together around common goals.
At Alaska Milk, she will oversee the company as it builds on its Filipino heritage and portfolio of established dairy brands while pursuing new ways to serve consumers.
Garrovillo is also expected to steer the company’s efforts to advance its purpose of providing affordable and accessible nutrition to Filipino families.
Her appointment comes as consumer companies face a market that increasingly demands not only trusted brands, but also value, accessibility, and relevance to changing household needs.
For Alaska Milk, the leadership change puts an experienced consumer executive at the helm as the company looks to balance the strength of its established brands with opportunities for future growth.
Garrovillo’s broad experience across major multinational and Philippine companies could give the dairy maker an integrated perspective as it navigates competition, evolving consumer preferences, and the push for sustainable growth.
The appointment marks a new chapter for Alaska Milk, with Garrovillo tasked with translating that experience into stronger brands, broader opportunities, and continued relevance in Filipino households.
