The Philippine Airlines (PAL) will upgrade its Manila–Melbourne services to daily round trips starting November 19, 2026, stepping up from five weekly flights just in time for the peak year-end travel season. The expansion also marks a milestone: 55 years of PAL flights to Melbourne since the route launched in 1971, cementing it as one of the flag carrier’s longest-running international destinations.
More flights mean far easier connections for passengers in both directions. Travelers from the Philippines and across PAL’s global network gain simpler access to Melbourne, while Australian visitors can connect through Manila to domestic Philippine destinations and key hubs in Asia, North America and the Middle East. The increased frequency also lifts cargo capacity between the two countries, a move set to support Philippine exports and deepen bilateral trade and business ties.
PAL maintains the most extensive network between the Philippines and Australia, with daily flights to Brisbane and Sydney, plus three weekly services to Perth. From its Manila and Cebu hubs, the airline serves 29 domestic points and 40 international destinations across Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East, and this expansion further strengthens its position as a key link connecting communities, businesses and travelers between the two nations.
