Philippine Aurion Solar Technologies Inc. is investing over P3.34 billion to build a solar cells manufacturing facility within the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. The 1.3-hectare plant will produce solar cells targeted mainly for the United States and European markets, with further expansion into other regions planned as the company deepens its local presence.
Backed by Australian investors, the firm has already recruited and trained more than 500 local professionals and technical employees. Beyond creating quality jobs, the facility will introduce advanced manufacturing expertise to Filipino workers, directly supporting the growth of the country’s domestic renewable energy manufacturing sector.
This investment establishes Philippine Aurion’s first manufacturing footprint in the Philippines and signals strong confidence in both the nation’s renewable energy prospects and its capable workforce. Company president Huai Jin Yang noted that setting up operations at FPIP highlights their faith in the Philippines’ potential and skilled talent pool, adding that the company is fully committed to advancing the country’s clean energy objectives.
As a significant addition to FPIP’s growing community of over 160 world-class locators, the project brings high-value technology and long-term economic benefits to the park and the broader region. It also reinforces FPIP’s reputation as a preferred hub for leading industries, while positioning the Philippines as an emerging player in the global renewable energy manufacturing landscape. FPIP senior vice president Yutaro Kuryu emphasized that investments like this align with the park’s vision to attract enterprises that deliver lasting technological and economic value, and confirmed full support for Philippine Aurion’s scaling plans.
