InLife advisers highlight financial independence, career opportunities

Insular Life (InLife) is encouraging more Filipinos to consider careers in financial advisory, citing opportunities for financial independence, flexible work arrangements and personal fulfillment through helping clients achieve greater financial security.

At the recent InLife Business Opportunity Forum in Iloilo, leaders of the Agila Financial Team General Insurance Agency shared their experiences building careers in the insurance industry and encouraged prospective advisers to explore the profession.

Sam Booc, a three-time qualifier of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), a global association of high-performing insurance and financial services professionals, recounted how she transitioned from an acting career to financial advisory.

Booc identified three benefits of the profession—income, independence and impact—and said the career can be accessible to people from different backgrounds.

“There is no age, education, or capital requirement to become a financial advisor. On top of the commissions, I travel the world for free,” she said.

Princess Cecile Gurrea, 22, meanwhile, said her experience growing up with parents who are both long-time InLife financial advisers helped shape her appreciation for financial security.

She said advisers can build trust by sharing personal experiences and demonstrating the value of financial protection rather than immediately focusing on selling insurance products.

“When you truly believe and experience the value of financial security, people will feel your sincerity, and they will listen and trust you,” Gurrea said.

Rhoie Allan Yncierto, who moved from network marketing to financial advisory during the pandemic, said the transition gave him greater income sustainability and a new avenue for professional growth.

Yncierto is now among InLife’s top unit managers in financial adviser recruitment. He encouraged professionals considering a career change to remain open to opportunities and take deliberate steps toward their goals.

“It’s never too late to start. Build your dream and create a better tomorrow,” he said.

The experiences shared at the forum underscored financial advisory as a career that combines income opportunities with client service, relationship-building and financial education. InLife said the profession can provide individuals with opportunities to develop their careers while helping families and communities strengthen their financial preparedness.
