Ivani Diamonds weighs export manufacturing base in Mindanao

Indian luxury jewelry maker Ivani Diamonds is exploring a potential export manufacturing and raw-material processing operation in the Philippines, with Davao and other parts of Mindanao among locations under consideration.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said its Foreign Trade Service Corps, Board of Investments and Export Marketing Bureau met with company representatives on Sept. 30 to discuss possible manufacturing opportunities, partnerships and government support.

The talks are still exploratory. Ivani Diamonds has not disclosed a potential investment amount, production capacity, employment target or timetable for establishing a Philippine facility.

If pursued, the project would focus on exports and could include raw-material processing, potentially bringing another higher-value manufacturing activity to Mindanao and strengthening the region’s role in export-oriented supply chains.

The discussions come as the Philippine government seeks to attract more high-value foreign investments and broaden the geographic footprint of manufacturing activity beyond the country’s traditional industrial hubs.

A potential Ivani Diamonds operation in Mindanao could offer opportunities to deepen manufacturing capabilities and connect local production more closely with the global luxury jewelry market. Still, the project’s eventual scale and location remain uncertain pending further discussions and investment decisions.

The DTI said the engagement is part of efforts to build partnerships with international companies considering the Philippines as a manufacturing and export base.

Ivani Diamonds is based in India and specializes in luxury jewelry manufacturing.

Indian companies and investors exploring opportunities in the Philippines may coordinate with the DTI’s Foreign Trade Service Corps or the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in New Delhi, the agency said.
