Big E Food Corporation, maker of Lemon Square cakes and pastries, is strengthening its presence in Batangas with a new manufacturing facility and the opening of its 150th retail store at LIMA Estate.
The company’s 11.8-hectare production facility, spanning 118,132 square meters at Aboitiz Economic Estates’ LIMA Estate, is expected to generate at least 2,000 jobs, expanding employment opportunities and supporting workforce development in Southern Luzon.
The new plant complements Big E’s existing manufacturing operations in Bulacan and is expected to provide technical skills training once fully operational, helping develop local talent for the growing manufacturing sector.
Alongside its production investment, Big E opened Lemon Square’s 150th retail outlet at The Outlets at LIMA Estate, bringing its products closer to consumers in Batangas’ expanding industrial and residential communities.
“Our 150th store is an important milestone for Lemon Square, because it is a reflection of our vision to serve more Filipino families wherever they live, work and grow,” said Big E Technical Director Ernesto Ramos Jr.
Clifford Academia, vice president for industrial and commercial business at Aboitiz Economic Estates, said Big E’s expansion illustrates how manufacturing investments can stimulate commercial activity within integrated industrial developments.
LIMA Estate hosts more than 200 companies that collectively support approximately 75,000 jobs across industries including electronics, automotive components, precision manufacturing and consumer goods.
Beyond manufacturing, the estate has diversified into retail, offices, hospitality, housing and education, creating an integrated business environment that connects companies with workers and consumers.
Big E’s dual investment in production and retail reflects a strategy to expand manufacturing capacity while strengthening market access in key growth areas.
The development also underscores Batangas’ growing role as a manufacturing and commercial hub, supported by industrial investments, employment generation and expanding consumer markets.
With its new facility and milestone store, Lemon Square is positioning itself to serve more Filipino families while contributing to economic activity and job creation in Southern Luzon.
