Mother Teresa of Calcutta Medical Center (MTCMC) has signed a renewable energy supply agreement with First Gen, becoming the first hospital in Pampanga to switch to clean power under the government’s Retail Aggregation Program. Signed last September 23, the deal will power all hospital facilities using electricity from First Gen’s Pantabangan-Masiway-Casecnan hydroelectric complex in Nueva Ecija. As part of the Mount Grace Hospitals network under the Unilab Group, MTCMC is also the 18th hospital in its network to partner with First Gen for direct renewable energy supply. Hospital officials noted the shift reinforces their commitment to environmental stewardship while supporting reliable, cost-effective operations around the clock. First Gen highlighted that indigenous renewable energy helps keep operating expenses stable while cutting carbon emissions from the hospital’s 24/7 services.
