ACMobility wins Philippine Energy Award for EV charging

ACMobility, the Ayala Group’s electric mobility provider, has received the E-Mobility Infrastructure Excellence Award at the Philippine Energy Awards, highlighting the growing role of charging infrastructure in the country’s transition to electric vehicles (EVs).

The award recognizes the company’s rollout of charging facilities nationwide. Carla Buencamino, head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility, accepted the distinction during a ceremony on Oct. 7 at Museo del Galeon in Manila.

The plaque, signed by Energy Secretary Sharon Garin, cited ACMobility’s contributions to the Philippine energy sector and national goals, alongside its commitment to innovation, excellence and collaboration.

ACMobility operates more than 240 locations and over 600 charge points nationwide. The company describes its network as the country’s largest. Department of Energy data cited for the end of June 2026 showed that ACMobility accounted for more than 40% of the Philippines’ EV charging infrastructure.

Its charging hubs connect major cities and travel destinations, offering alternating current (AC) chargers and direct current (DC) fast-charging options for compatible vehicles. The mix caters to different charging needs, from longer parking periods to quicker top-ups during travel.

“This recognition belongs to the teams within ACMobility and our external partners who have been working hard to make EV charging accessible where Filipinos live, work, and travel,” Buencamino said.

She added that the company would continue investing in infrastructure and expanding the network to support the country’s shift toward electric mobility.

The recognition comes as charging availability remains an important consideration for motorists weighing the move to EVs. Beyond installing charge points, network operators face the challenge of ensuring reliable service, strategic site coverage and sufficient capacity as vehicle adoption grows.

The award underscores ACMobility’s position in the emerging charging market, although the broader impact of infrastructure expansion will also depend on EV uptake, charger utilization and the reliability of facilities across the network.

The Philippine Energy Awards honors individuals, organizations and industry players whose achievements and innovations have contributed to the development of the country’s energy sector.
