TP in the Philippines wins sustainability award amid green push

TP in the Philippines was named Sustainability Company of the Year at the 2026 Asia CEO Awards, earning recognition for its environmental initiatives, workforce development and community programs as it marks three decades of operations in the country.

The company also received Circle of Excellence honors for Most Innovative Company of the Year and Service Excellence Company of the Year. Rahul Jolly, its chief executive officer, was named a Circle of Excellence awardee for CEO of the Year.

The awards come as TP celebrates its ninth consecutive Great Place to Work® certification. With 29 sites nationwide and 60,000 employees, the company serves global brands across multiple industries, making sustainability and workforce development significant parts of its Philippine operations.

“Receiving this award reflects TP’s belief that lasting business success must go hand-in-hand with the well-being of people and the environment,” said Dipto Sen, chief financial officer of TP in the Philippines.

The company reported that renewable energy accounted for 63 percent of its energy consumption in 2025. Its carbon emissions intensity declined to 0.25 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per employee, a 77 percent reduction from 2019. Its sites also saved more than 33,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity through Earth Hour participation.

Beyond environmental measures, TP’s Citizen of the World initiative mobilized 250 volunteers in 2025, generating 6,613 volunteer hours and P1.7 million in support for more than 10,300 Filipinos.

Its employment programs target jobseekers and underserved communities through TP STEP, a skills training-to-employment initiative, and Impact Sourcing. Meanwhile, TP LaunchPad reached more than 20,000 students across over 40 partner schools in 2026, offering career-readiness activities and exposure to employment opportunities.

The company also secured ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety certification and ISO 14001:2015 environmental management certification across its site operations in 2025.

The recognition highlights how corporate sustainability increasingly encompasses not only emissions and energy use but also employee welfare, skills development and community engagement.
