Globe Telecom has secured Five Golden Arrows for the fifth consecutive year, becoming the first recipient of the Institute of Corporate Directors’ (ICD) Hall of Fame Award for sustained corporate governance performance.
The recognition reflects Globe’s performance under the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS), which assesses publicly listed companies on shareholder rights, board accountability, transparency, and sustainability.
Five Golden Arrows is awarded to companies scoring at least 115 points under the scorecard, which is aligned with the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance. Its updated framework places greater emphasis on sustainability disclosures, digital governance, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) integration.
Marisalve Ciocson-Co, Globe’s chief compliance officer and senior vice president for legal and compliance, said the award affirms the company’s efforts to embed governance practices across its operations.
The company’s track record includes its 2012 recognition at the Philippine Stock Exchange Bell Awards for Excellence in Corporate Governance, where it was the only telecommunications company honored that year. Globe has also received recognition in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards.
President and CEO Carl Cruz said the company’s governance approach is anchored in protecting shareholder rights, promoting transparency and accountability, and taking responsibility for the services customers depend on.
The latest awards also highlight governance efforts across the Ayala Group, with Ayala Corporation and Bank of the Philippine Islands likewise receiving Five Golden Arrows this year.
For Globe, the fifth consecutive distinction reinforces the role of corporate governance in supporting responsible innovation, sustainable growth, and long-term business performance.
