President Marcos says MVP Group commits P120B to elevated road

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the MVP Group has committed P120 billion to build an elevated road connecting Balintawak in Quezon City to Bocaue, Bulacan, as the government seeks to expand highway capacity and ease congestion north of Metro Manila.

Marcos announced the proposed investment on October 20 during the opening of Section 1A of NLEX Segment 8.2 in Valenzuela City, saying the project would require coordination between the MVP and SM groups.

“Mayroon tayong magandang balita.

The proposed elevated road would run above the existing highway, adding capacity to a heavily used corridor linking Metro Manila with Bulacan and other provinces in Central and Northern Luzon.

Marcos said the additional road space could improve traffic flow, lower transport costs, and shorten travel times for workers and other motorists.

However, details on the project’s construction timetable, alignment, implementation arrangements, and financing were not provided in the announcement.

The proposed investment would add to private-sector participation in road infrastructure, with coordination between the two business groups expected to be important to project development.
