Equinix bets on Go-Catane to expand Philippine business

As demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence reshapes the digital infrastructure market, Equinix is turning to a seasoned technology executive to steer its next phase of growth in the Philippines.

The company has appointed Ireen Go-Catane as managing director for the Philippines effective November 9, tasking her with expanding its local business and helping customers meet increasingly complex technology requirements.

Based in Manila, Go-Catane will oversee Philippine operations, pursue market growth and support customers’ digital transformation initiatives.

She brings more than 30 years of experience in the information and communications technology industry, most recently serving as country president of Schneider Electric Philippines. Her previous leadership assignments include senior positions at NTT Philippines, Microsoft, Voyager Innovations, Samsung, IBM, Dell and Hewlett-Packard.

“Ireen is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in business transformation and the Philippine market,” said Max Parry, Equinix vice president for growth and emerging markets in Asia-Pacific.

Parry said Go-Catane would lead the company’s next phase of growth and help customers capture opportunities in cloud computing and AI.

Go-Catane said her priorities include strengthening Equinix’s market position and giving businesses access to the infrastructure and interconnected technology ecosystems needed to compete.

“As customers navigate increasingly complex technology and business requirements in the age of cloud and AI, Equinix is well positioned to provide the infrastructure, interconnection, and ecosystem access they need to scale with confidence,” she said.

Equinix entered the Philippines in 2025 and has since established three Manila data centers with more than 1,000 cabinets of capacity. The facilities host network service providers and four of Manila’s main internet exchanges, connecting customers to the company’s wider regional presence in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

With its local infrastructure footprint in place, Equinix is looking to capture more opportunities as businesses invest in digital capabilities. Go-Catane’s appointment adds an experienced local executive to that growth strategy.

She was named a Circle of Excellence awardee for Woman Leader of the Year at the 2026 Asia CEO Awards.
