Borough Lasik Center (BLC), claiming a lead role in the Philippines, has opened its first satellite clinic in General Santos City, expanding its reach and making advanced eye care more accessible to residents in Mindanao.
“We have multiple accessible locations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, extending our mission to provide life-changing vision for all to all corners of the country. Citizens from General Santos, including other nearby towns, now have access to the latest technology one could offer abroad,” Karlo Serafin Sanchez, BLC general manager said.
“They don’t need to fly to Manila or other countries just to enjoy the newest eye treatments. BLC has conveniently brought the technology right in their backyard,” he added.
BLC has four branches– three full-service clinics in Manila, Iloilo, and Davao, and now a newly-opened satellite clinic in General Santos.
The management also announced that BLC will soon open clinics in Cagayan de Oro and Bacolod.
“At BLC, we take pride in our commitment to excellence by investing in world-class technology and equipment, so we can provide customized treatments ensuring the best results for every patient.” BLC CEO and head ophthalmologist Dr. Ches Heredia, said.
“As of December 2023, BLC has helped over 20,000 eyes achieve life-changing vision. Of course, this would not be possible without the expertise of our globally-trained and highly-experienced doctors.” he added.
BLC also boasts its top-of-the-line machines that perform the best ophthalmic treatments. One of them is the Schwind Amaris Excimer Laser, a high-performance laser system used in refractive surgery to reshape the cornea and correct vision problems such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism.
As part of its commitment of providing innovative solutions to eye surgery, BLC recently certified as the FIRST and only eye clinic in the Philippines to offer CLEAR Lenticule Extraction– the same technology used in Europe, the Americas and different parts of the world. This procedure is performed using a machine called the Ziemer Z8 NEO that the BLC launched in March 2023.
