Globe Business helps power cooperatives with digital transformation

In a move helping empower cooperatives across the Philippines, Globe Business is enabling digital transformation to improve member engagement, streamline operations, and promote sustainable growth. The initiative aims to bridge the urban-rural divide by providing cooperatives, particularly those in underserved and remote areas, with access to powerful digital tools.

Cooperatives have long been a cornerstone of financial and social support, particularly in rural communities, offering vital services to individuals who may not have access to traditional banking. They play a crucial role in promoting local community development and economic stability. However, many cooperatives continue to rely on manual processes, limiting their ability to scale, innovate, and keep up with modern technological advancements.

According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Financial Inclusion Dashboard, 60 percent of Filipino adults now own mobile phones and engage in online transactions, a massive leap from only 11 percent in 2019. This shift presents a unique opportunity for cooperatives to modernize and better serve their members through digital platforms.

Through Globe Business’ robust ICT infrastructure, cooperatives in even the most remote regions can now adopt digital solutions designed to boost efficiency and member engagement. Among these solutions are Google Workspace, which enables seamless collaboration across geographically dispersed teams, and M360’s SMS Blast, a tool for timely and effective communication with cooperative members.

“As key contributors to economic stability and inclusive development, cooperatives hold immense potential to uplift underserved areas,” said KD Dizon, vice president and head of Globe Business. “We strive to bridge the urban-rural divide by helping them scale their operations, embrace innovation, and succeed in an increasingly digital world.”

In further support of the initiative, Globe Business has entered into a strategic partnership with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). The partnership will see both organizations working closely to reach cooperatives nationwide through roadshows, webinars, and events like the Metro Manila Cooperative Congress, to explore the benefits of digital transformation in cooperative management.

“This collaboration is more than just about services—it’s about improving lives,” said Joy Encabo, CDA chairman. “Through technology from Globe Business, we aim to uplift communities and accelerate their journey out of poverty. We are grateful for Globe’s involvement as we know we cannot achieve this alone. This partnership holds great promise, and we look forward to its lasting impact.”

Globe Business’ commitment to cooperatives extends beyond providing digital solutions. The company offers end-to-end support for digital transformation, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud services, ensuring that cooperatives are equipped to grow and protect member data.

With the future of cooperatives being shaped by technological innovation, Globe Business stands as a key partner in the digital empowerment of these vital community organizations, paving the way for a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
