All lanes now open in northbound NLEX Marilao section ahead of schedule

NLEX Corp. on Wednesday announced that all four lanes of the Marilao Northbound section of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) have been reopened to traffic, ahead of the original two-week schedule. This development comes after a truck damaged the Marilao Bridge on 19 March, causing significant traffic disruptions. NLEX fast-tracked the repairs, working around the clock to complete the necessary fixes.

Although the lanes are now passable, steel poles remain in place to support concrete curing for the bridge. With this, NLEX expects traffic flow in the area to improve and normalize in the coming days.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) expressed gratitude for NLEX’s swift action, noting that the reopening of all lanes one week ahead of schedule would help reduce travel time for motorists. The DOTr emphasized the importance of collaboration between agencies like NLEX to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience for all commuters.

Motorists are encouraged to continue observing traffic and safety measures as the bridge undergoes final curing processes.
