PGEC launches education program in Isabela with solar power project

PetroGreen Energy Corp. (PGEC) has launched an education initiative in Isabela as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, coinciding with the installation of the first solar array for its 40 MWDC Limbauan Solar Power Project (LSPP) in San Pablo on 17 March 2025.

The project, the PGEC’s 10th power plant upon completion in late 2025, aims to promote sustainable energy and community development. Isabela governor Rodolfo T. Albano III praised the initiative as a symbol of progress and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government, private sector, and local communities in driving responsible energy transition.

PGEC’s education program, managed by its subsidiary BKS Green Energy Corp., includes scholarship grants for students at Isabela State University and support for local schools through the Adopt-a-School program. The initiative will provide educational materials, improve facilities, and organize enrichment activities at Limbauan and Cadanggan Elementary Schools in San Pablo.

Local officials, including San Pablo mayor Antonio N. Miro, Jr. and Limbauan Elementary School principal Gemalyn Allam, expressed their gratitude for the project’s positive impact on education and community growth. PGEC assistant vice president for environment and community relations, Yrel V. Ventura, reiterated the company’s commitment to ensuring that its renewable energy projects benefit the communities they serve.
