MediaTek and NVIDIA launch smallest AI supercomputer with GB10 chip

At Computex 2025, MediaTek unveiled a sweeping AI strategy under the theme “AI for Everyone: From Edge to Cloud,” spotlighting the company’s drive to unify digital computing and communications through hybrid architectures and strategic collaborations.

CEO Dr. Rick Tsai emphasized the convergence of AI, 6G, edge, and cloud technologies as central to MediaTek’s mission to democratize intelligent systems across markets. “Our edge-to-cloud portfolio empowers AI-driven innovation in homes, cars, and datacenters alike,” said president and COO Joe Chen.

The company introduced a hybrid computing approach aimed at reducing system fragmentation in generative AI. This includes the 5G Generative AI Gateway—merging fixed wireless access and on-device AI—already tried with a major telecom partner and honored with a Computex Best Choice Award.

In a major collaboration with NVIDIA, MediaTek co-developed the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip for the DGX Spark, the world’s smallest AI supercomputer, capable of supporting AI models with up to 200 billion parameters. MediaTek also highlighted its “edge cloud” enablement via RAN-cloud and device-cloud infrastructure for secure, low-latency AI workloads.

The Dimensity Auto platform integrates generative AI and 5G into connected vehicles, while the Genio platform expands edge AI to IoT applications in smart retail and industry. MediaTek is working with partners like Advantech and VIA to accelerate development using integrated AI toolkits.

From AI-enhanced 5G/6G signal aggregation to Wi-Fi optimization through Filogic, MediaTek is blending advanced connectivity with intelligent device collaboration. In multimedia, the company introduced an RGB mini-LED SoC and an 8K 60Hz AI-enhanced scaler, advancing display technology with ultra-realistic visuals.

MediaTek’s Computex 2025 announcements reflect a concerted effort to bridge edge intelligence and cloud power—solidifying its role in the evolving digital computing ecosystem.
