Century Pacific, Vita Coco renew P14B, 5-year coconut water deal

Century Pacific Food, Inc. (PSE: CNPF), a top Philippine food company, has renewed its five-year contract with global coconut water leader The Vita Coco Company Inc., worth P14-billion.

The five-year agreement, which starts January 2026, aims to sustain over 4,500 manufacturing jobs in General Santos, Mindanao, and strengthen their collaboration on sustainability, health, safety, environmental, and ethical standards.

“Our relationship with Vita Coco is a win-win that has grown over the past decade. We look forward to expanding our joint impact across our businesses, consumers, and communities,” said Noel Tempongko, Jr., Century Pacific’s OEM Coconut vice president and general manager.

The renewal follows a 2024 incremental agreement for an additional 90 million liters over five years, enabling Century Pacific’s acquisition of Coco Harvest, Inc. and creation of 1,500 jobs in Misamis Occidental. Since entering the coconut category in 2012 via Vita Coco, Century Pacific has become a key supplier, expanding capacity by 50 percent in 2022 to meet rising demand fueled by health and wellness trends.

“Our shared mission on quality, sustainability, and community impact drives continued innovation and growth,” said Jonathan Burth, Vita Coco chief operating officer.

Both companies have invested in supporting smallholder coconut farmers, enhancing productivity and sustainability. In 2022, Century Pacific, alongside GCash and HOPE, planted one million coconut trees in Mindanao, pledging another 100,000 via the Save Our Coconuts program. Vita Coco’s “Seedlings for Sustainability” aims for 10 million trees globally by 2030. Together, they have supported over 10,000 farmers and donated more than one million seedlings.
