The recent appointment of lawyer Francis Lim as chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) continues to reverberate across publicly listed companies, with Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. announcing board and leadership changes in response.
Converge told the Philippine Stock Exchange its board has elected 61-year-old Park Weongi as a non-executive director, filling the unexpired term vacated by Lim. Park brings with him more than 30 years of global experience in IT and cloud infrastructure. He previously served as CEO of NAVER Cloud and NAVER Cloud APAC, and now acts as Executive Advisor, offering strategic counsel to support the company’s regional expansion.
In parallel, Converge elevated Arlene G. San Juan to the position of treasurer, while Christine Renee Biabagno, formerly deputy chief financial officer and treasurer, has been appointed chief risk officer.
San Juan, 48, currently serves as vice president and financial controller at Converge. A Certified Public Accountant and cum laude graduate of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, she has more than 25 years of finance experience spanning controllership, planning, treasury, compliance, taxation, and reporting. Her career includes key finance roles at DM Consunji Group, Robinsons Land Corporation, and Filinvest Development Corporation, where she also served as treasurer for several subsidiaries.
The reshuffle reflects Converge’s continued focus on governance and strategic leadership amid broader shifts in the regulatory landscape and leadership transitions within the SEC.
