The Manila Water Co. Inc. on Monday announced that its P24.4-million mainline extension project in Angono, Rizal is on track for completion within the third quarter of 2025. The project is set to significantly improve water access for more than 1,110 households in Barangays San Isidro and Kalayaan, many of whom currently rely on neighboring connections due to the lack of a direct waterline.
Launched in February 2025, the upgrade involves laying 1,245 linear meters of 150mm high-density polyethylene pipes and interconnecting with an existing 400mm pipeline along Manuel L. Quezon Avenue. The works also include installing 300 individual water service connections and one bulk connection.
Beyond immediate consumer benefit, the project is designed to meet a projected water demand of 1.4 million liters per day, supporting future growth including the nearby Life Industrial Park.
“This project is more than just laying pipes, it’s about laying the foundation for healthier, more resilient communities,” said Jeric Sevilla, Manila Water’s corporate communication affairs group director.
The initiative reinforces Manila Water’s commitment to expanding infrastructure across its East Zone service area, which includes major parts of Metro Manila and several municipalities in Rizal province.
