Dagohoy solar plant begins commercial operations in Bohol

PetroEnergy Resources Corp. (PERC) announced that its 27.121 MW Dagohoy solar power plant in Bohol has officially commenced commercial operations as of Wednesday, 16 July 2025. The launch follows regulatory clearances from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP), marking its entry into the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).

The ₱1.2 billion facility is part of a 111.58 MW solar portfolio under Rizal Green Energy Corp., a joint venture between PERC’s PetroGreen Energy Corp. (PGEC) and Japan’s Taisei Corp. Additional projects in the pipeline include solar plants in Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, and Isabela, slated for completion or regulatory approval later this year.

“We are proud to begin commercial operations in Bohol, providing indigenous and clean energy to a province historically reliant on imported power,” said Dave Gadiano, PGEC AVP for Power Markets. He added that the milestone also marks the start of a power supply agreement with SN Aboitiz Power.

The development boosts PERC’s growing renewable portfolio, which includes solar and wind assets across the country, as well as offshore wind projects under its affiliate Buhawind Energy Northern Luzon Corp.
