St. Luke’s Medical Center to open ASEANA Hospital in 2031

St. Luke’s Medical Center Inc. has postponed the opening of its third hospital in ASEANA, Paranaque, to 2031—two years later than the originally planned 2029 target. The new facility, estimated to cost around ₱12 billion, will feature approximately 500 beds, matching the size of its Bonifacio Global City (BGC) hospital.

Dennis P. Serrano, CEO of St. Luke’s ASEANA, noted the hospital is still in the design phase, with construction expected to begin by September 2026. The site is on reclaimed land near the airport, posing unique challenges such as restrictions on digging and building height.

Staff recruitment will begin in 2028, with training conducted at St. Luke’s existing centers in Quezon City and Taguig to ensure readiness upon opening. Serrano highlighted the hospital’s focus on incorporating advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, precision medicine, molecular oncology, and digital transformation.

St. Luke’s currently holds the distinction of performing the highest number of robotic-assisted surgeries in the Philippines, with over 2,500 procedures certified by DTG Medical Inc. This expertise is expected to influence the new hospital’s technological capabilities.
