Australia offers AUS3 million in aid for typhoon-hit Ph

Australia has pledged AU$3 million (P115.9 million) in humanitarian assistance to support the Philippines’ response to Typhoons Tino and Uwan.

The Philippines has been hit by several natural disasters in recent months — including the two typhoons and recent earthquakes — affecting millions of people nationwide.

As a long-time partner of the Philippines, Australia says it is ready to help with shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene support, health services, and food assistance. Australia’s aid groups are already working with Philippine government agencies and local organizations to ensure help reaches the communities most in need.

Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Marc Innes-Brown said Australia stands with the Philippines during this difficult period and is prepared to assist wherever needed as response efforts continue.
