Aboitiz Renewables, Inc., the renewable energy arm of Aboitiz Power Corp., has energized its 92.55-megawatt peak (MWp) San Manuel solar power plant in Pangasinanrr, marking another milestone in the company’s nationwide clean-energy expansion. The facility is the firm’s third solar project in Pangasinan, joining the Cayanga-Bugallon and Laoag solar plants.
Aboitiz Renewables president Jimmy Villaroman said the project highlights the company’s continued push to grow its renewable energy footprint, noting Pangasinan’s strong solar potential and available grid infrastructure as key enablers. He also thanked the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and project teams for supporting the plant’s successful commissioning.
San Manuel is the sixth solar facility completed by Aboitiz Renewables and comes as the company secures NGCP approval for grid connection of the 173-MWp Calatrava Solar Power Plant in Negros Occidental, now the largest operating solar and variable renewable energy facility in the Visayas.
With more than 1,000 MW of renewable energy projects in the pipeline, Aboitiz Renewables continues to expand its clean-energy portfolio, contributing to the Philippines’ energy transition as ground-mounted solar reached 9.6 percent of installed capacity in the grid as of April 2025.
AboitizPower is the Aboitiz Group’s holding company for power generation, distribution, and retail electricity services, driving sustainable growth and improved quality of life for Filipino communities.
