Honda Cars Philippines Inc. is stepping on the accelerator as demand for its electrified lineup surges, with hybrid sales nearly doubling in 2025. President Rie Miyake called the uptick the start of “a new phase” in Honda’s local electrification drive.
At the launch of Honda Fest 2025, held to mark the company’s 35th year in the country, Miyake said more than 1,600 hybrids found buyers this year, driven by strong interest in the CR-V, Civic and new HR-V hybrid variants.
Honda plans to offer four hybrid models by 2026, signaling a sharper shift toward cleaner mobility in the Philippines.
The event also introduced the All-New Prelude to the local audience. The specialty sports hybrid coupe, slated for a 2026 market entry, pairs Honda’s e:HEV full hybrid system with the S+ shift mode to deliver a sleek, fun-to-drive package.
Miyake added that the futuristic Honda 0 Series, first shown at the Japan Mobility Show, will be brought in after its global rollout. The lineup includes the Honda 0 Saloon, Honda 0 SUV and Honda 0 Alpha, an entry model designed for Asian markets.
She said the series aims to “expand the possibilities of life for Filipino customers” while pushing Honda closer to carbon neutrality.
HCPI, which began local operations in 1990 with the fourth-generation Civic, continues to post solid results.
This year, the BR-V led sales with more than 6,200 units, followed by the City with over 3,600, while both the new HR-V and CR-V topped 1,100 units each.
With hybrid demand accelerating and fresh metal incoming, Honda is gearing up for an electrified leap in the Philippine market.
