Roblox wants users to look beyond the games.
The platform recently brought members of the Philippine media together in Manila for “UNBOX ROBLOX,” an immersive showcase designed to demonstrate how the platform has evolved into a broader digital space for creating, learning, connecting, and building communities.
The premise was simple: the best way to understand Roblox is to experience it firsthand.
The event offered four perspectives on the platform, taking participants through the experiences of a player, parent, creator, and partner.
For players, Roblox showcased a broad mix of immersive content spanning gaming, music, learning, and entertainment. Age-based accounts for younger users were also highlighted as part of the platform’s approach to creating age-appropriate digital experiences.
The parent experience focused on tools designed to help families navigate their children’s online activities, including parental controls, educational resources, and Family Zone, which was launched in July.
The creator segment offered a glimpse into how ideas become interactive experiences. Participants explored Roblox Studio and Build, a mobile-first creation tool that uses text prompts to generate starting concepts that creators can develop, playtest, and publish within the Roblox app.
The showcase also put Filipino creators in the spotlight, including Theo (@sausagerate) and Clark (@clarck2317), whose Roblox experiences have reached audiences beyond the Philippines.
Their work illustrates how local creativity can travel far, turning ideas into interactive experiences capable of attracting global communities.
For brands and organizations, meanwhile, Roblox demonstrated how immersive digital environments can create new ways to engage audiences through entertainment, music, and other interactive experiences.
The result was a broader picture of Roblox as a platform shaped not only by what people play, but also by what they create and how they connect.
“The best way to understand Roblox is to experience it,” said Papri Dev, head of APAC Communications at Roblox.
And after a few hours of seeing the platform through four different lenses, that proposition becomes easier to understand. Roblox may have grown up around gaming, but its ambitions clearly extend well beyond it.
