Globe, Nokia expand partnership to boost network-based digital services

Globe Telecom has expanded its collaboration with Nokia to speed up the rollout of network application programming interfaces (APIs), a move expected to strengthen digital services and security across multiple industries in the Philippines.

The expanded partnership will give Globe access to Nokia’s full suite of network APIs, allowing businesses and developers to tap into advanced network capabilities such as identity verification and security features. These tools can help industries like banking, health care, automotive and entertainment build safer and more efficient digital services.

A key focus of the collaboration is fraud prevention. Globe has been testing Nokia’s technology to support security-driven applications, including number verification services aimed at reducing mobile banking fraud. Several Philippine banks are now preparing to use these APIs, with similar solutions expected to follow for other sectors.

By working with Nokia’s cloud-based platform, Globe aims to roll out new services faster, encourage local innovation and open up new revenue opportunities, while giving customers more secure and reliable digital experiences.

Both companies said the partnership also supports global industry standards, helping ensure that network APIs can be widely adopted and easily used by developers, ultimately contributing to economic growth and broader digital inclusion.
