Ayala-led mobility companies have teamed up with the Department of Tourism (DOT) to plug electric vehicles into the country’s tourism roadmap, rolling out a nationwide campaign that blends greener transport with destination development.
The partnership, formalized on January 23, launched the “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” campaign, bringing together ACMobility and Mobility Access Philippines Ventures Inc. (MAPVI)—the exclusive Philippine distributor of BYD electric vehicles—under Ayala Corp.’s automotive arm. The initiative aims to elevate the travel experience while cutting emissions and easing mobility across tourist hubs.
At the core of the campaign is the integration of electric mobility into the tourism ecosystem.
Travelers will be encouraged to explore destinations using BYD’s electric vehicles, supported by ACMobility’s growing network of ultra-fast charging stations. These chargers will be installed at Tourist Rest Areas (TRAs) nationwide and in emerging destinations, enabling longer, more seamless electric road trips.

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco said the partnership supports both access and sustainability. “By integrating electric mobility into tourism circuits, our Tourist Rest Areas across the Philippines and emerging destinations, this partnership strengthens access, supports regional dispersal, and allows tourism growth while managing environmental impact,” she said during the signing ceremony.
The collaboration marks a strategic expansion of Ayala mobility group’s EV ecosystem into leisure and domestic travel.
ACMobility chief executive officer Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala said the partnership aligns infrastructure, vehicles, and policy direction. “By combining ACMobility’s EV charging spine network, BYD’s world-class electric vehicles, and the DOT’s vision for sustainable tourism, we are creating a seamless ecosystem that powers journeys across the entire country,” he said.
Filipino-American content creator Wil Dasovich will feature destinations, DOT rest areas, and Michelin-awarded restaurants, highlighting local tourism champions through BYD platforms, to amplify the campaign.
Frasco added that the initiative is expected to generate spillover benefits for local transport operators, food businesses, and community enterprises, while positioning the Philippines as a tourism destination aligned with global sustainability standards.
