Leading off-grid energy provider DMCI Power Corporation (DPC) posted record energy sales of 522.2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) in 2025, a 6 percent increase from 491.2 GWh in 2024, underscoring sustained demand growth in missionary and island grids across the Philippines.
The sales milestone was largely driven by the commissioning of the 12.5-megawatt (MW) Semirara Wind Project in the second quarter of 2025. The facility marked DPC’s first integration of renewable energy into its generation portfolio and a strategic step toward diversifying its historically thermal-heavy mix.
DPC said about 55 percent of the incremental energy sold during the year came from the new wind capacity, despite operating for only half the year. The balance was supported by steady output from the company’s existing plants, reflecting stable operations across its off-grid footprint.
Further boosting supply was the addition of two 8-MW bunker-fired power plant units in Aborlan, Palawan. The new units lifted DPC’s total installed capacity by 18% to 188.3 MW, up from 159.8 MW a year earlier, enhancing its ability to meet rising electricity demand in underserved areas.
“Delivering our highest sales for the 15th consecutive year reflects the growing demand in off-grid areas and our continued focus in providing reliable, cost-efficient power,” DPC President Antonino E. Gatdula, Jr. said. He added that the inclusion of wind power supports the Department of Energy’s push to accelerate renewable energy development, particularly in off-grid markets.
Looking ahead, DPC has earmarked P2.4 billion in capital expenditures for 2026 to develop new hybrid, renewable, and conventional facilities, positioning the company for continued growth as electrification needs expand in its service areas.
DMCI Power Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of DMCI Holdings, Inc. and the country’s largest independent off-grid energy supplier, operating thermal, bunker, diesel, and wind facilities in Masbate, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, and Antique.
