RCBC’s award sweep spotlights purposeful banking communications

Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) emerged as a standout at the 61st Anvil Awards, securing multiple recognitions for communication programs that reinforce its push for financial inclusion, sustainability, and digital transformation.

The bank earned honors across five categories—Sustainability Communications, Best Use of Digital Assets, Advocacy/Public Awareness/Cause-Related, Best Use of Partnerships, and Financial Communications—highlighting how RCBC has positioned communications not just as promotion, but as a strategic lever aligned with national development priorities and shifting consumer behavior.

“These recognitions reflect RCBC’s focus on disciplined execution and purposeful customer engagement,” RCBC President and CEO Reggie Cariaso said during the “Gabi ng Parangal” at Solaire Resort North in Quezon City. “We view communications as a strategic tool to build trust and ensure our initiatives deliver measurable value to customers and communities.”

A recurring theme across the winning campaigns was access—whether geographic, digital, or financial. RCBC ATM Go: Kapitbahay ATM ng Bayan, Tulay ng mga nasa Laylayan was recognized under Sustainability Communications for expanding banking access in underserved and remote communities, including beneficiaries of government social programs. The initiative underscores the growing role of agency banking in narrowing financial gaps beyond traditional branch networks.

Digital adoption was another strong pillar. Raise the Pulz Rate won for Best Use of Digital Assets by harnessing RCBC’s online platforms and data-driven outreach to shift mindsets around borrowing and boost digital loan applications. Complementing this, Reframing ‘Utang’ was cited for its advocacy-driven approach to financial literacy, building online communities focused on responsible digital borrowing rather than hard selling.

RCBC also gained recognition for partnerships that advance sustainability. Its collaboration with Tesla, Ahead to a Green Era, was cited for making electric vehicle financing more accessible, supporting the broader transition to cleaner transport.

In Financial Communications, RCBC ATM Go was again recognized for expanding digital banking access in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, in partnership with the regional government.

“These recognitions validate our belief that communications can be a force for inclusion,” said RCBC Executive Vice President and Chief Innovations and Inclusion Officer Lito Villanueva, noting the bank’s continued focus on translating innovation into real-world impact.
