Rockwell tops off Pampanga mall, eyes 2027 opening

Rockwell Land Corp., the listed property development arm of the Lopez Group, has reached a major construction milestone in Central Luzon, topping off the structure of Power Plant Mall Angeles as it pushes ahead with the expansion of its signature lifestyle brand beyond Metro Manila.

The March 10 ceremony marked the completion of structural works for the highly anticipated retail hub, which is slated to open by the third quarter of 2027. The project is being developed by Rockwell Nepo Development Corp. (RNDC), a joint venture between Rockwell Land and JDN Realty Group.

Leading the ceremony were Carmelo G. Lazatin II, mayor of Angeles City; Eugenio L. Lopez III; Nestor J. Padilla, chairman and CEO of Rockwell Land; and Miguel Ernesto L. Lopez, the company’s treasurer and senior vice president for office development.

Representatives from JDN Realty, including Peter G. Nepomuceno and Arsenio N. Valdes, also joined prospective tenants and project partners for the milestone event.

Guests were given a preview of the future mall through staged mock-ups of store facades, finishes and design details — offering an early look at how the experience of Power Plant Mall will be recreated in Pampanga.

Spanning 32,000 square meters of leasable space, Power Plant Mall Angeles will be the first expansion of Rockwell’s flagship retail concept outside Metro Manila. The development will feature a curated mix of international and local brands, everyday essentials, and an al fresco dining strip highlighting the culinary heritage of Pampanga.

The mall anchors the broader Rockwell at Nepo Center township, which includes residential towers such as The Manansala, now fully sold and already turning over units to residents.

Encouraged by strong market response, Rockwell and JDN Realty are also planning further expansion, with an additional 9,000 square meters of land earmarked for new components.

With the structure now complete, the project moves into its next phase — transforming the site into what developers hope will become the next lifestyle landmark in Central Luzon.
