Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is ramping up its shift to electric vehicles in a bold move to counter rising fuel prices and supply uncertainty.
The fiber broadband provider is adding more than 100 new electric units to its fleet, on top of the 120 electric and hybrid vehicles already in operation. These vehicles will support critical field services such as installation, maintenance, and repairs across Metro Manila.
The expansion signals a stronger push toward sustainability, with Converge targeting to convert 20 percent of its fleet and contractor vehicles to electric and hybrid models by 2030.
According to Laurice Esteban-Tuason, the ongoing global oil crisis underscores the urgency of reducing dependence on fossil fuels. She emphasized that electrifying the fleet is not only an environmental step but also a strategic move to shield operations from volatile fuel costs.
Converge said electric vehicles offer more stable and potentially lower operating expenses, helping the company stay resilient amid global market instability.
To reinforce its green transition, the company is also offering subsidies to employees who adopt electric and hybrid vehicles. It has installed an EV charging station at its Pasig headquarters and plans to roll out more charging facilities across Metro Manila.
The company stressed that these efforts are key to boosting efficiency, cutting emissions, and future-proofing its operations.
