As rising oil prices and supply disruptions continue to strain households and businesses, Ayala Corporation said it is ramping up sustainability and efficiency initiatives across its businesses to help ease costs for consumers.
The company said its investments in renewable energy, electric mobility, logistics, finance, and digital connectivity are aimed at reducing dependence on fossil fuels while improving service reliability and affordability.
Ayala Corporation chiel social infrastructure officer Paolo F. Borromeo said sustainability is guiding the group’s response to economic uncertainty by helping operations become more efficient and resilient.
Energy firm ACEN has expanded its renewable energy capacity to 7 gigawatts, while 119 Ayala facilities using renewable electricity are helping avoid about 329,000 tons of carbon emissions annually and generating more than ₱191 million in electricity savings.
Other Ayala companies are also adopting cleaner energy to lower operating costs. BPI now powers 70 branches entirely with renewable energy, while Globe Telecom has shifted over 3,000 cell sites and facilities to cleaner energy sources.
Ayala is also helping consumers directly access greener technologies. BPI’s Green Solutions program offers financing for solar panels and electric vehicles (EVs), with the bank reporting strong demand and an EV financing portfolio worth around ₱12 billion.
Meanwhile, ACMobility is expanding EV access and charging infrastructure nationwide, with more than 200 charging locations planned or operational. The company said EVs can reduce fuel expenses by up to 70 percent compared to gasoline-powered vehicles when charged at home, while also lowering maintenance costs.
ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala said electrified mobility addresses one of the biggest pain points for Filipinos — the high cost of transportation — while also supporting energy security.
The company’s “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” campaign with the Department of Tourism promotes the practicality of electric travel across the country.
Ayala Land is also supporting cost-saving mobility through walkable mixed-use communities, transport hubs, and point-to-point commuter routes designed to reduce dependence on long daily commutes.
In logistics, AC Logistics is expanding renewable energy use in warehouses and cold-chain facilities while electrifying delivery fleets to help stabilize supply chain costs.
At the same time, Globe is widening access to affordable high-speed internet through its GFiber Prepaid service, helping families adapt to remote work, online learning, and changing economic conditions. Ayala’s initiatives highlight how major Philippine companies are using sustainability not only as an environmental strategy but also as a practical response to rising fuel prices and economic pressures. By investing in renewable energy, EVs, efficient communities, and digital access, the group aims to provide Filipinos with more affordable, reliable, and resilient everyday services.
