Metro Pacific Investments Foundation (MPIF) is holding the Shore It Up! Tubbataha Exploration Dive until May 27, 2026, by bringing together experts to assess the health of the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park — a critical Philippine marine sanctuary and global biodiversity site in the Sulu Sea.
The activity supports MPIF’s Gabay Kalikasan program and follows a renewed partnership with park management and conservation groups, where MPIF pledged ₱12 million over four years for research, protection, and community work. This builds on an earlier ₱8-million grant provided from 2022 to 2025.
The expedition will evaluate coral cover, fish populations, key species, and threats to the reef. Results and a formal report will guide long-term conservation plans and raise public awareness on protecting marine ecosystems. The effort highlights how research and partnerships help sustain vital marine resources that support fisheries and ecological resilience.
